Influencer Called Out By Passenger For His Actions During Flight — Rested His Feet Near Her Armrest, Repeatedly Kicked Her Seat
Malaysian influencer Aisar Khaled has since issued an apology after he was called out for his actions on the flight.
Malaysian influencer Aisar Khaled has drawn attention online after a fellow passenger accused him of inconsiderate behaviour during a late-night flight back to Malaysia, prompting him to issue a public apology.
According to the woman, who shared her experience in a now-deleted Threads post, she was seated directly in front of the 25-year-old content creator on a Batik Air flight.
Describing him as “the worst influencer [she’s] ever seen”, she shared that she began feeling repeated pressure against the back of her seat shortly after take-off. She later realised that the passenger behind her had stretched his legs forward, with his feet pressed against the area around her seat for much of the flight.
She claimed that he also repeatedly kicked the back of her seat, making it difficult for her to properly rest.
The passenger said she eventually asked Aisar to stop kicking her seat.
In her post, she shared that he apologised at the time, and she thought the matter had been settled. However, she claimed that after he fell asleep, he once again stretched his feet towards her seat, with the same situation repeating several times throughout the flight.
She also shared a photo showing a sock-clad foot sticking out beside her seat, resting near her armrest.
While acknowledging that Aisar’s height may have made him feel cramped in the Economy Class seat, she said it should not come at the expense of other passengers’ comfort.
“If you know you’re tall, you should at least consider booking a Business Class seat,” she added.
The woman added that the flight had already been delayed, with passengers only boarding at around 11.40pm. Combined with the repeated disturbances during the journey, she said the experience left her feeling even more exhausted.
It was only after landing, when she took a photo of the passenger behind her to document the incident, that she realised it was Aisar, who boasts eight million followers on Instagram.
The post quickly went viral, sparking plenty of discussion among netizens. Many agreed that travellers should be mindful of each other’s personal space, even when seated in Economy Class.
Others suggested turning to the cabin crew for help if similar situations happen, instead of letting the discomfort continue throughout the flight
Following the backlash, Aisar issued a public apology on Threads.
“Sorry for the unethical action that I did during the flight to Malaysia. I was really burnt out and instantly crashed out when the flight departed. Moving forward, I won’t repeat the same kind of behaviour again. Sorry for the inconvenience,” he wrote.
While Aisar has apologised for his actions and the original post has since been deleted, the incident has sparked discussion among netizens about where to draw the line when it comes to personal space on flights.
The majority consensus? A little extra legroom might be nice, but so is being considerate of the person sitting in front of you.
