For some, flying Business Class is just another upgrade. For others, it is a full-circle moment years in the making.

For NatGeo Travel cinematographer Marvin (@mrvn_64), he got so emotional that he ended up quietly tearing in his seat.

"POV: You finally boarded your first Business Class flight in your life that you've been dreaming (and saving up) for all of your life," he captioned his video documenting his maiden Business Class experience on a  on Japan Airlines flight.

“I knew I was going to cry when I planned this experience, but I didn’t know it was going to impact me for this long,” he later shared in a heartfelt Instagram post.

Marvin described the experience as deeply personal.

“As a son of immigrant parents… this was a very enriching experience for me,” he wrote, adding that he hopes one day he can share similar moments with his loved ones.

“Whilst others may take this experience for granted, please spare a thought for people like me who have been wanting this for a long time,” he added.

It is unclear where Marvin was flying from, or to, and 8days.sg has reached out to him for comment.

As if the experience itself wasn’t already meaningful enough, what happened onboard made it even more unforgettable.

Marvin shared that his inaugural Business Class experience was marked by an unexpected act of kindness.

According to him, a female cabin crew member surnamed Takahashi had noticed him tearing up at his seat.

“She saw me crying silently in the corner… and I reassured her I was crying out of gratitude and happiness,” he wrote, also telling her taking Business Class has always been a dream of his.

He then shared that Takahashi also teared up with him, and word of his first Business Class experience spread among the cabin crew and his fellow passengers, many of whom came to greet him.

“Thank you @japanairlines_jal for making this experience as comfortable and thank you to all of my loved ones for making this a reality,” he wrote, adding that he was given a small gift, which looks like a luggage tag, and a postcard from the crew.

Despite the plush seats and premium perks, Marvin made it clear this wasn’t about status.

“I used to dream of one day having enough money to experience this for myself, flying Business Class on any airline,” he wrote, adding that as life got tougher, that dream began to feel increasingly out of reach.

“Some people fly for the status or the luxury. I fly as a milestone, to prove to myself that I’m capable,” he added.

“Whilst others may take this experience for granted, please spare a thought for people like me who have been wanting this for a long time,” wrote Marvin
