Laser Lights At Raymond Lam’s Concert May Have Destroyed Netizen’s Camera Phone
Might want to reconsider filming concerts from now on.

While we appreciate the laser graphics at concerts, did you know those same effects might be the cause of your damaged camera phone?
In a post to Threads, a netizen claimed that a day after he attended a concert by Hong Kong singer Raymond Lam, his phone had several strange purple spots and lines show up on his screen.
When he brought it to an Apple Store, a technician immediately asked him if he had attended a concert recently.
Turns out, laser lights in stage productions can damage phone camera sensors if they hit directly.
Worse, there is no fix. Once the sensors are fried, the only solution is to replace the entire phone.
Yikes! Imagine shelling out hundreds of bucks for a concert, only to then spend more cash on a new phone.
This is not the first time such an incident has happened.
Back in 2021, Sony published a warning to their website stating they are aware of the damage that lasers can do to camera phones.
Probably something to consider if you are attending Blackpink’s sold-out Deadline shows in November, and want to film it all, you might want to think twice.
Probably smarter to just enjoy the concert and keep your phone in your pocket.
Someone else will be rushing to upload clips to social media anyway, right?
