Someone Sent A Sponge Cake Resume To BreadTalk; Netizens Underwhelmed By The Bakery's Response

Mass sending resumes on LinkedIn? So ordinary. To apply for a job at BreadTalk, a TikToker got creative and sent in a sponge cake together with their resume.

Yes, it was literally a sponge cake made out of kitchen sponge, TikToker @justcreatingmything revealed in his video. It came complete with a fake receipt with his (real) resume, and even a QR code, presumably for the hiring managers to scan for a soft copy of his CV.

He did not specify what role he was applying for.

The package was delivered on Aug 7, and the TikToker said that although the QR code has been scanned by someone, he still has not heard back from BreadTalk.

“Still no word. Did it get read… or eaten?” he quipped.

Umm... We hope no one actually tried eating it.

Did BreadTalk think it was a joke, or worse, a scam?

Despite BreadTalk's radio silence, his video has gone viral, with netizens praising his creative resume.

“BreadTalk does not deserve your effort,” read a comment.

Another wrote, “You wanted a desk job, but I think they will offer you [the role] of TikTok media manager”.

Some even tagged BreadTalk in the comments, demanding they give a response.

BreadTalk, are you seeing all this?

Instead of dropping BreadTalk an email, this TikToker took the effort to bake them a cake
With the sponge cake, he added his resume disguised as a receipt
Despite sending the cake on August 7, he says he has still not gotten a response
