Canadian TikToker Named Alexis Dang Confused By Singaporeans Leaving Comments Saying She Has Their Vote

It appears Singaporeans have been searching for WP's Alexis Dang on TikTok.

While the 39-year-old candidate for Punggol GRC at GE 2025 does not have a page of her own, a Toronto-based TikToker, who is also named Alexis Dang (@alexisd215), does.

Unsurprisingly, some Singaporeans have playfully left comments on Toronto Alexis' videos promising to vote for her.

The Canadian influencer, who has over 40K followers on Instagram and 95K TikTok followers, was understandably confused.

In a clip posted on May 1, Toronto Alexis, who is 24, said: "I have a question, why does everyone keep commenting 'Don't worry, I'll vote for you' on my TikToks? I'm assuming there's another girl with the same name as me named Alexis Dang because [others] are commenting 'She's not the one'."

Toronto Alexis went on to say that she has yet to meet anyone with the same name as her and was immediately brought up to speed by Singaporean netizens.

On May 2, Toronto Alexis made another video announcing she has figured out who the other Alexis Dang is though she has no clue how TikTok users in Singapore found her.

She went on to say that while they "have the same name, and are both Asians", she does not see any resemblance between herself and WP's Alexis.

She also asked to be updated on the results of the elections, adding that the situation reminded her of TikTok CEO's Chew Shou Zi's "Senator, I'm Singaporean" moment.

In case you don't know, the WP team comprising Harpreet Singh, Alexis Dang, Jackson Au and Siti Alia Binte Abdul Rahim Mattar contested and lost in Punggol GRC to the PAP team, which was made up of Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong, Sun Xueling, Janil Puthucheary and Yeo Wan Ling.

WP's Alexis Dang isn't the only GE 2025 person to make waves in Toronto's social media.

According to a netizen who is based in Toronto, the "Look Left, Look Right" sung by PPP's Samuel Lee has also been popping up on their FYP page.
