Are S’poreans Really The Fastest Walkers In The World? Australian TikToker Disagrees After Navigating Through Orchard Rd Crowds
Are they really Singaporeans and not tourists?

According to a study by the British Council, Singaporeans are among the fastest walkers in the world, covering about 18 meters in 10.55 seconds on average.
But Australian TikToker baldafroninja disagrees, after navigating through crowded Orchard Road malls.
The Singapore-based content creator, who proclaims that he "hates being stuck behind slow walkers", posted a video of him weaving through the crowds along Orchard Road.
Among the crowded places he was at was the notoriously packed underpass between Ion Orchard and Wisma Atria. Not gonna lie, even the most calm of monks might be tempted to swear trying to navigate their way through that.
But considering that Orchard Road is a shopping district, were those slow walkers actually Singaporeans, or simply tourists?
It seems netizens could relate to his video with one commenting on the “lack of public awareness” when using their phones to check for directions.
Another chimed in, “We might have been fast in the 90s and 00s, but smartphones have made all of us zombies”.
One irate netizen even blamed hand-holding couples for slowing down foot traffic.
However, some pushed back against the criticis, challenging the TikToker to try walking through Singapore’s Central Business District (CBD) instead.
“You’ll be pushed aside if you don’t walk fast enough”, read one comment.
One netizen even defended slower walkers and hilariously asked in Mandarin, “Are you rushing to be reincarnated?”
