These days, it seems like anything Chinese heartthrob Zhang Linghe says — or does — is enough to send the internet into a frenzy.

The latest? A throwaway remark about… his leg hair.

In a recent trailer for variety show Our Dormitories, the Pursuit Of Jade star lost a game and was told he'd have to undergo the punishment of having five leg hairs plucked.

Except there was one tiny problem.

After casually rolling up the leg of his jeans, the 28-year-old declared: "I don't have any leg hair!"

His unexpected response instantly sent the studio into laughter.

The clip soon made the rounds online, with "Zhang Linghe: I Don't Have Leg Hair" shooting to the top of Weibo's trending list.

But that wasn't the funniest part.

Curious fans immediately turned detectives, digging up old pics of Linghe to see if he was actually telling the truth.

And after what can only be described as an extremely thorough investigation, many concluded that... he wasn't kidding.

Netizens pointed out that the 1.9m-tall actor’s legs are not only long and straight, but also so smooth and fair that there are barely any visible hairs — or even pores. Fans have since dubbed them "anime legs".

Comments poured in, with one netizen joking: "So handsome guys really do have less leg hair," while another wrote: "This is the first time I've seen someone trend because he doesn't have leg hair."
