Chinese Businesswoman, 55, Marries 25-Yr-Old Man With S$9mil Dowry

Another age-gap relationship has recently got people talking, this time involving a 55-year-old Chinese medical aesthetics tycoon and her 25-year-old husband, with a reported 50 million yuan (S$9.3mil) dowry.

The woman at the centre of the buzz is Yu Wenhong, the founder and chairwoman of Young Merry Real International Group, a medical aesthetics company she built from the ground up.

Born in Dalian, Wenhong came from a modest background and started her career with a small beauty salon at the age of 22.

Over the years, she expanded her business into a multi-region medical aesthetics empire, establishing her group in Hong Kong in 2004.  

Her latest marriage, however, has drawn attention for more than just her wealth.

Wenhong’s husband, known online as “Ren Ren” (real name Liu Yuchen), is 30 years younger than her, and the couple are said to have recently tied the knot.

Their relationship first surfaced online in 2025, with differing accounts of how they met.

Some reports claim they connected through live stream interactions, while others say they were introduced at a business event.

Following that, the pair began appearing together more frequently in public, where they did not shy away from showing affection.

In one widely circulated moment, the couple appeared alongside Wenhong’s 17-year-old son, whose visibly awkward expression drew attention from netizens.

Wenhong also lavished Ren Ren with gifts, including a Rolls-Royce and a Mercedes-Benz, after they got together.

Ren Ren previously addressed the attention surrounding their relationship, saying: “I never planned to live this kind of life, but no one could have expected things to turn out this way. It just landed on me. Who wouldn’t want an opportunity like this? But how many people actually get one?”

Wenhong’s personal life has long been a topic of discussion.

She has reportedly been married five times prior to this latest union, though little is known about her first four husbands, whose identities have not been publicly disclosed.

Online speculation suggests that one may have been a wealthy businessman, while another was said to be a diplomat, though these claims have not been confirmed.

Her fifth marriage was more high-profile. In 2014, Wenhong married Albanian model Rolando V. Lekaj, who was about 20 years younger than her. Their relationship attracted attention at the time, but eventually ended in 2024.

Wenhong herself has previously addressed public scrutiny, stating that she does not place much importance on others’ opinions and prefers to follow her own choices.
