This Is What Avantgardey Members Really Look Like Without Their Wigs & Uniforms

Forget the glitchy moves and signature deadpan stares for a second.

Avantgardey may look like a 17-member army of identical bob-haired clones on stage. Off duty, several members have been breaking the internet by revealing their real selves, sans make-up, wigs and the pinafores.

Despite millions of views and viral fame, the group has admitted that once the wigs and pinafores are back on, even they sometimes struggle to tell each other apart from behind.

Ahead of their upcoming Singapore shows at The Theatre at Mediacorp on March 11 and 12, we tracked down seven members whose off-stage glow-ups have gone viral.

Formed in February 2022 by choreographer Akane, the group achieved fame through a combination of social media virality and a standout performance on America's Got Talent (2023).

1. Nona, 30 - @nonanaona_

Nona was among the first to break the illusion, dropping a TikTok transformation video that has racked up over 19.5 million views.

Without the wig and heavy makeup, she is said to look like Hong Kong actress Elaine Yiu.

2. Aimu, 22 - @aimu_avantgardey

Aimu’s transformation reel has surpassed 11 million views.

3. Seira, age unknown - @seira_avantgardey

She often drops the character entirely, showing off her natural hair and a softer, girl-next-door vibe.

4. Sono, 23 - @sono_avantgardey

Often the group’s unofficial spokesperson during interviews, Sono is one of the most recognisable members off stage.

5. Ui, 20 - @ui_avantgardey

The youngest member brings trendy, Gen-Z energy to the group’s online presence.

6. Miyuu, 22 - @miyuu_.avantgardey

Off stage, she leans into a polished, high-fashion aesthetic.

7. Nagano, early 20s - @nagano_avantgardey

Her BTS posts show off a cool, androgynous real-life style, nothing like the wacky character she is on Avantgardey.
