Former Mediacorp actor Ian Fang, 36, had his permanent resident (PR) status revoked, the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) said today (Feb 5). He will also be deported after completing his prison sentence and barred from re-entering Singapore.

In May 2025, Ian was sentenced to 40 months’ imprisonment after pleading guilty to three charges of sexual penetration of a minor.

At the time, three similar charges were taken into consideration for his sentencing, along with one count of obstructing justice and one count of stalking.

Although the judge initially imposed a gag order to withhold Ian’s identity to protect the victim, it was later lifted following a request by the prosecution.

A gag order remains in place to protect the identity of the victim, who was 15 at the time of the offences in 2024. Ian was 34 when he met the victim at an event.

Ian began serving his sentence on June 16, 2025.

In a statement to CNA, the ICA said: "Singapore permanent residents who have been convicted of an offence will have their PR status reviewed by the ICA."

Ian was born in Shanghai, China, and moved to Singapore in 2002 at the age of 13. He was a full-time actor with Mediacorp for 12 years, from 2011 to 2023.
