Ex Actor Ian Fang Sentenced To 40 Months’ Jail For Sexual Offences With Minor

Former Mediacorp actor Ian Fang, 35, was sentenced to 40 months' jail today (May 19) after pleading guilty to various sexual offences with a then15-year-old girl in June 2024.

Ian pleaded guilty to three charges of sexual penetration of a minor. 

Three similar charges were taken into consideration for sentencing, along with one count of obstructing justice and one count of stalking. 

Although the judge had initially imposed a gag order to withhold his identity to protect the victim, it was lifted following the prosecution's request.

The victim had stated that she was now "emotionally stronger" and was willing to bear the risk of being eventually identified. 

This is the first time Ian’s identity has been made public since he was charged.

The victim’s identity remains protected and cannot be disclosed.

According to 8world, Ian appeared in court today wearing a black mask and remained masked throughout the proceedings.

It noted his uneasy demeanor, frequently looking up and down during the session.

Ian and the victim met at an entertainment event in May 2024. They exchanged contact details and began talking daily.

Ian engaged in sexual activities with the girl on six occasions in June 2024, causing her to be infected with a sexually transmitted infection.

He purportedly committed the offences at his home, Marina Bay Sands hotel, and Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital.

He also obstructed the course of justice in August 2024 by instructing the victim to cry in front of her mother, and beg her not to press charges against him, claiming she did not want him to go to jail.

In September 2024, he was also said to have harassed her by calling her 18 times in one day.

He also sent her messages via WhatsApp, and accessed her virtual room on a karaoke app.
