Eden Ang Makes A Comeback Online After 6 Years Out Of Spotlight; Receives Words Of Encouragement From Netizens
The former Wah!Banana actor vanished from the spotlight in 2018 after a string of sexual harassment allegations.
Remember the 2010s YouTube era? Before every Gen Z was a "content creator’?
One name you couldn’t escape was Wah! Banana's Eden Ang, who was known for his slapstick skits and boy-next-door charm. He also starred in long-form drama Tanglin from 2015 to 2017.
Then in 2018, he vanished from the spotlight following a string of sexual harassment allegations, though police investigation eventually concluded with no charges filed due to insufficient evidence.
Still, it didn't stop Eden from getting cancelled at the time, and he laid low for years.
Fast forward to 2026, the 38-year-old is making a comeback on his new TikTok channel, and has received positive feedback from netizens.
In a clip titled ‘Wake up 2026’ he recently uploaded, Eden launches into a fast-paced, almost stream-of-consciousness monologue questioning how information is consumed and distorted on social media platforms like TikTok.
“People cut out tiny bits, and give their own opinion,” he quipped.
He also noted how drastically the media landscape has changed since he was last in the spotlight. “Movies are dead. Cinemas are closed. YouTube is also dead. It’s TikTok now,” he remarked.
When he asked what kind of content performs well on TikTok, he answered bluntly: “Gossip, slander, exposing one another, spilling tea, stealing other people’s shine, that’s how you get famous really, really quick. Oh, cashing in on other people’s misery.”
The clip ends on a personal note, with Eden saying this is not the world he wants his children to grow up in.
During his six-year hiatus, Eden got married and is now a dad to a young daughter.
While he does not outline specific plans to “change the world”, the TikTok algorithm appears to be working in his favour.
At press time, the video has amassed more than 112K views.
Comments have been largely welcoming, including a welcome back message from local content creator Simonboy.
Another netizen wrote: “Welcome back! Take it easy. You have done it once. Now, you can only get better. Pace yourself. God bless”.
Another nostalgically added, “Suddenly wanna rewatch Tanglin for the nth time.”
This is not Eden’s first attempt at returning to the public eye. In June 2024, he uploaded a YouTube video where he spoke about wanting to help people struggling with addiction and shame.
He followed this up with a Q&A in October 2024 discussing his future plans. Since then, he has sporadically posted on his channel. Eden also runs a separate TikTok account, @EdensEnglish, where he shares English-learning content.
Beyond content creation, Eden founded a men’s support group that has been active for over two years, offering a safe space for men to share personal struggles in a supportive environment.
