NUS Graduate Spends Internship Pay on Meals for Indonesia’s Homeless & Delivery Riders
Would you have done the same?

As an intern, would you have spent your pay cheque on yourself… or strangers?
TikToker Jensen Kuok, a National University of Singapore (NUS) computer engineering graduate, wrapped up his internship with Indonesian fintech company Doku by spending what was left of his pay cheque on 20 packets of warm meals for the homeless, cleaners, and delivery riders.
“Since I earned this money in Indonesia, I decided that the best way to give back would be to spend it here,” Jensen explained in the TikTok video, also adding that his friend Jarren chipped in.
To make it happen, Jensen roped in Grab delivery driver, Ikram, who not only delivered the meals but also sent back photos of himself distributing the food.
Jensen also didn’t forget Ikram and told him to set aside some money for himself.
It is unclear how much Jensen and Jarren gave Ikram.
The wholesome twist? Ikram shared with Jensen that many Indonesian delivery riders actually hold Bachelor’s or even Master’s degrees, opening his eyes to the country’s economic struggles.
Netizens were touched by his act of charity.
“You guys have such a big heart. Thank you so much for helping,” read a comment.
One even cheekily asked, “Are you single?”
Jensen was seen liking the comment.
Isn’t that a soft launch answer?
