1 Million Taobao Flash Delivery Riders To Receive Free New Uniforms That Look Like A Streetwear Collab
Grab, foodpanda, and Deliveroo, are you seeing this?
For most of us, we can spot a food delivery rider from a distance.
However, it seems Taobao Flash’s latest rider uniforms is making everyone take a longer second look - and for all the right reasons.
Taobao Flash, which was launched by Alibaba in earlier this year and guarantees deliveries within 30 minutes, unveiled new uniforms at a Hangzhou event recently.
Slim-cut, orange and black, plastered with logos from Alibaba’s long list of companies such as Ele.me, Hema, and Alipay, these kits look less like workwear and more like a streetwear collab.
They are not just stylish but functional too and are apparently water-repellent, windproof, breathable, and come with reflective strips for night rides.
Considering these riders need to fulfil their deliveries under 30 minutes, we can see why they need the fancy features.
The food box has been upgraded to now hold up to 43 litres of food, and comes with a theft-proof lock, along with an extra layer to keep your fried chicken warm.
The best part? One million riders are getting them free.
And it's not just for the TikTok generation. An older model, replete with shades, rocked the new Taobao Flash look too.
If you ask us, he pulled it off better than anyone else.
While we would love to have Singapore’s own delivery riders rocking something similar, let’s be real, they would probably pass out from the heat in those uniforms.
Still, we wouldn’t mind if they sold these here as merch.
Halloween flex, anyone?
