Zhang Linghe Reportedly Only Slept 20 Hours in 7 Days Amid Gruelling Work Schedule & Health Concerns

Beneath all the glitz and glamour, it’s no surprise that celebrities often endure grueling schedules.

The prime example these days? Chinese actor Zhang Linghe.

The 28-year-old heartthrob has been filming upcoming Tencent S+ costume romance drama The Road to Glory, while also juggling a surge of endorsement deals and variety show appearances — all fuelled by his rising fame from Pursuit of Jade.

And with so many opportunities comes... a serious lack of sleep.

According to reports, fans have calculated his daily work schedule, and estimated that he slept only 20 hours over the past seven days.

It’s said that between March and April, he frequently traveled back and forth between drama productions and variety show recordings, sometimes arriving on set before dawn and starting work immediately.

He also worked extremely long hours. For example, on May 1, Linghe reportedly worked until midnight, but was already back on set by 8:30am the next day.

On a separate occasion, entertainment bloggers noted that he went to Beijing for work and stayed for only one day, during which he completed a series of interviews.

Fans noticed he had the same hairstyle throughout and said that there were at least five interviews publicly released.

“Under such intense work conditions, he can still stay mentally sharp, answer questions clearly and accurately, and not make mistakes," praised one fan.

The intense workload has inevitably caused serious concern about his health.

On April 28, his studio revealed that Linghe needed treatments and physiotherapy due to low blood sugar and a leg sprain.

Despite all that, the actor apparently refused to delay filming progress, but was seen multiple on multiple occasions being unable to stand, needing assistance from staff and looking exhausted.

You’d think his insane workload would ease up once The Road to Glory wraps, right? Wrong.

Linghe reportedly shared previously that he has many meet-and-greet events lined up moving forward, and is also said to be in talks to film another reality show, Divas Hit The Road, which is in its eighth season, in July.
