Taiwanese Singer Freaks Out Over Flying Cockroach During Performance

We all know someone who screams like the world is ending when they see a bug. Taiwanese star Windie Zhang is one of them.

Recently, the 41-year-old former member of Taiwanese girl group 4 In Love took to Threads to share about how a flying cockroach upended her performance.

Windie holds a small get-together with her fans on the first Monday of every month. The free admission event includes drinks and transport from the train station.

According to Windie, the event is very well-received and is always sold out within seconds.

Her fans, said Windie, are "quiet and introverted" and would just watch her sing with  "almost no loud screaming".

Well, until last Monday.

"I turned out to be no match for a flying cockroach. When it appeared, the screams from everyone blasted through the entire National Taiwan Normal University," she lamented.

Windie said that midway through her rendition of Jacky Cheung’s 'She Came to My Concert', a cockroach hovered above her head.

A startled Windie screamed, grabbed a baseball bat, and retreated into the audience.

Chaos ensued among her fans, with some arming themselves with umbrellas, pillows, and broomsticks to fend off the intrusive bug.

One viral video captured Windie's hysterical reaction, leaving netizens tickled.

Windie later joked on Threads that she had “predicted” the incident, having written just days before about why cockroaches always seems to fly towards her.

Not to bug Windie out even more, but how will she top her show the next week?

That's one big cockroach
She must be thinking: What in the flying-
