Jackie Chan Slammed For Getting Too Close To Joey Yung At Event; Her Manager Sets The Record Straight

People really love taking things out of context.
Recently, Hong Kong action star Jackie Chan, 71, received backlash on Xiaohongshu and was accused of inappropriately touching Joey Yung's back.
The film legend was at The Greater Bay Area Film Concert 2025 in Macau when he gently patted the 45-year-old Hong Kong singer, who was sitting next to him in a bare-back evening gown.
After seeing Jackie's hand on Joey's back, netizens were quick to accuse him for "molesting" her.
They even claimed that Albert Young — chairman of Emperor Group that manages Joey — immediately stood up and walked over to Joey to rescue her from the actor.
Some then rudely called Jackie a "salty pig's hand", a term to berate molesters in Mandarin or Cantonese.
But there's more than meets the eye.
Joey's manager, Mani Fok, has since quashed the rumours in an interview with Hong Kong media HK01.
She explained that Joey, Jackie and Albert were actually taking a group photo with fellow attendees Taiwanese singer Wang Leehom and Chinese actor Xiao Zhan.
The stars had swapped seats for the picture and Jackie was merely tapping Joey's shoulder to remind her to return to her seat that had been pre-arranged.
"He watched Joey grow up, and is a very gentlemanly person," assured Mani.
In fact, look closely at the footage and you'll see that Albert stood up even before Jackie made contact with Joey, eradicating assumptions that he was "walking over to protect Joey".
So stop spreading fake news, okay?
