Xiao Zhan Calmly Rejects Pushy Woman's Autograph Request At Event

There’s no denying the immense popularity of Chinese star Xiao Zhan, 33.

From riding the train with his standee to mobbing him at airports, Xiao Zhan’s fans have gained notoriety for going over the top in displaying their support for him. 

On September 28, while attending The Greater Bay Area Film Concert at Macau’s Galaxy Arena, Xiao Zhan encountered yet another relentless fan — and it was all caught on camera. 

In a clip that has since gone viral on Weibo, an unidentified woman was seen approaching a seated Xiao Zhan for his autograph. 

The actor maintained a friendly smile, but waved his hand to reject her. 

The woman was relentless, trying to persuade him to give in. Despite Xiao Zhan’s repeated polite rejections, she refused to leave his side.

She pestered him for nearly a minute before those seated nearby finally had enough. Hong Kong singer Joey Yung and her manager, Mani Fok, looked ready to step in — with Mani even rising from her seat.

Fortunately, a staff member arrived just in time to escort the woman away before things escalated further.

Netizens have since rallied behind Xiao Zhan, with many agreeing he did the right thing by rejecting the woman’s request for an autograph.

As it turns out, his signature can fetch an absurdly high price online, with reports of scalpers listing his autographs for thousands of dollars.

Some netizens also felt the woman seemed to have “an ulterior motive” for insisting on his signature, echoing the view that Xiao Zhan was right to turn her down.
