Taiwanese Rocker Shin Blames Malaysia Flight Issue for Concert Delay
Taiwanese rocker Shin’s Changsha concert on September 13 didn’t exactly start on the right note.
The 54-year-old kept fans waiting for 40 minutes, with some so angry they shouted for refunds.
When he finally burst on stage at 810pm, Shin powered through a two-hour set before bowing and leaving without saying a word, or even an apology.
Until now.
In a Weibo post, he wrote that he was supposed to depart from Malaysia at 10am, but a plane malfunction delayed his departure till 3pm, causing him to be late.
“That night, I didn’t want to give excuses. So instead, I gave a deep bow and poured everything I had into the performance. Once again, I sincerely apologise to everyone,” he wrote.
Um… not to nitpick, but shouldn’t “giving your all” be the baseline even if you are on time?
Still, many loyal fans were moved, with one gushing, “Seeing you running onto the stage breathlessly made me very moved.”
But critics weren’t as forgiving, pointing out that Shin’s team should have communicated better, and maybe not crammed his schedule so tightly.
