Carina Lau, Carol Cheng Go Viral For Looking Like “AI Clones”
Netizens were amused by how alike the Hong Kong stars looked in recent pics, with some even mistaking the snaps for AI-generated images.
Hong Kong stars Carina Lau, 60, and Carol Cheng, 68, have unexpectedly become the talk of the internet after being photographed together looking so alike that netizens think they could pass off as “AI clones”.
The duo recently shared snaps from a skincare brand event, where both women were dressed almost identically in chic all-white blazer ensembles, complete with similar shoulder-length hairstyles and glowing makeup looks.
From their smiles to their poses and expressions, the pair looked uncannily similar — so much so that netizens joked they resembled “AI clones” or “long-lost sisters”.
“Seriously thought this was an AI-generated photo,” commented one netizen, while another wrote: “I thought there was something wrong with my eyes.”
At the event, Carina also spoke candidly about ageing and appearance, admitting that she used to struggle with appearance anxiety when she was younger.
“It was more serious when I was young, but not so much now,” she said. “Everyone ages, and I’ve chosen to make peace with time.”
The actress added that instead of fearing ageing, she focuses on maintaining her health, staying active and keeping a curious mind. She even joked that she has already forgotten her own age.
Well, she’s definitely doing something right.
