Carol Cheng Not Pleased About Being Secretly Filmed Eating Noodles In Chongqing

Whether you’re shopping or enjoying a quiet meal, there’s always a chance someone will recognise you and either ask for a selfie or, worse, sneak a photo.

That’s exactly what happened to Hong Kong actress-host Carol Cheng recently while she was slurping noodles at a Chongqing eatery.

A star-struck diner shared snaps of the encounter, writing: “It’s such an honour to run into Hong Kong star Carol Cheng while having a bowl of noodles.”

Even the shop owner couldn’t resist and posted a video of Carol’s visit on Xiaohongshu.  

The 67-year-old wasn’t impressed when she realised she was being secretly filmed.

In the clip, she could be heard telling her companion: “That person across from me keeps taking videos.”

The post quickly sparked discussion among netizens, with many criticising the shop owner for being disrespectful and filming Carol eating.

"Boss, even if you want to promote your shop, you shouldn't do it this way. Secretly filming is not acceptable... Firstly, you should have asked if you could take a photo... Secondly, the photos you posted could hurt her public image," commented one netizen.

Another wrote: “At least pick some better photos. You took such unflattering shots of her and still want to use them for marketing.”
