Chantalle Ng Has The Same Maniacal Laugh In Emerald Hill As The Annabelle Doll?
An iconic laugh is one of those deciding traits that can make or break a villain.
And we think Chantalle Ng nailed that for her performance in Mediacorp blockbuster Emerald Hill.
The 29-year-old Mediacorp actress' maniacal laugh in the 30th and final episode of the hit drama has gone viral... and for good reason.
Chantalle plays Zhang An Na, the unhinged, and as the final episode revealed, schizophrenic granddaughter of the wealthy Zhang family. She's also the Big Bad of The Little Nyonya spin-off.
An Na's laugh has been compared to Annabelle aka the demon doll from the Conjuring franchise and also the star of its own horror movie series.
The observation definitely struck a chord with netizens, with many cackling the same tune.
"Took the An Na in Annabelle too literally," quipped one netizen.
One netizen also speculated that the actress had purposely mimicked "Ah Bell (Annabelle)'s" laughter because her character is as evil as the doll.
We don't know if that's true but regardless, it's definitely high praise for a villain to be compared to one of pop culture's most terrifying characters.
