Emerald Hill’s 'Er Shao Ye' Xiu Jie Kai Makes Hyrox Look Like A Piece Of Cake

When we heard Taiwanese actor Xiu Jie Kai got his fellow Emerald Hill castmate Romeo Tan to join him for a HIIT workout while filming in Malaysia, we kind of got the sense that the er shao ye of Emerald Hill is fit.

Jie Kai plays Zhang Jin He, the reliable er shao ye (second son) of the Zhang family, husband to Li Shu Qin (Jesseca Liu) and father to Zhang Anya (Ferlyn G), and Zhang Xinniang (Tasha Low).

But who knew that the 42-year-old actor had it in him to complete a Hyrox event held in Taiwan recently.

According to the Jie Kai's Instagram, he has been prepping for the race for a while and has previously posted about some of the workouts he does to get ready for race day.

Also, is it just us or does Jie Kai make the incredibly tough fitness event look like it was a piece of cake?

In an Instagram video posted by Hyrox Taiwan, Jie Kai didn’t even look like he was panting as he seemingly breezed through the different stations.

Even at his last station where he had to complete a 100 wall balls, Jie Kai looked like he barely broke a sweat.

Now, before you think his finishing timing was subpar, think again.

The Hyrox singles finisher completed the event in one hour and 24 minutes.

While this writer is no expert, a friend who is 32, and a three-time Hyrox finisher confirmed that Jie Kai’s timing is considered fast by most standards.

Now, we want to know if he will be jio-ing any of his Emerald Hill castmates the next time he takes part.

And if so, anyone willing to take him up on his offer?
