TikToker Spots Cockroaches Feasting On Pineapple At Changi Airport’s Butterfly Garden

Imagine heading to Changi Airport’s Butterfly Garden only to be greeted by cockroaches instead of pretty butterflies.

TikToker @jiahuilifestyle posted a now-viral clip showing pineapple slices meant for the butterflies was swarming with cockroaches, and joked that the “Singapore Changi Airport butterflies garden [was] turning into cockroach garden”.

Yikes! First, mushrooms on a passenger boarding bridge, and now this?

A quick check online showed that the Butterfly Garden, which is located in Terminal 3's transit area, is still open and accessible to passengers, though it is unclear if there are still roaches around.

Netizens were horrified, of course. “Changi Airport, please don’t embarrass us!” read a comment.

However, some thought the sight was hilarious. “Wow! Those are the fattest cockroaches I’ve ever seen,” one quipped.

Another joked that “the butterflies are on leave, the cockroaches are just temporary replacements”.
