Faye Wong’s Daughter Li Yan Helps Dad Li Yapeng Sell S$4mil Worth of Tea in 30 Secs

Could Li Yan, the 19-year-old daughter of Mandopop diva Faye Wong and her second ex-husband Li Yapeng, be the next big thing in live streaming?  

If her latest cameo is anything to go by, we wouldn’t bet against it.

Yapeng, 54, who recently announced his divorce from 35-year-old model Haiha Jinxi — his wife of three years — has reportedly been struggling with massive debts.

He’s turned to live streaming to make a living, with netizens calling it his “lifeline”.

During a live stream this week where Yapeng was promoting tea, Li Yan popped in for just 30 seconds.

She said a single line: “The tea my dad picked — I’ve tried it, you can buy with confidence.”

That brief appearance helped her dad rake in an eye-popping 23mil yuan (S$4.19mil) in sales.

Not bad for half a minute’s work.

It’s reported that Yapeng’s usual live stream sales are mediocre, but his daughter’s appearance sparked a frenzy of support and sent sales soaring.

Some netizens said that they didn’t make purchases because of Li Yan’s endorsement, but to support Yapeng, who, despite being weighed down by debt, hasn’t given up or slacked off, but continues to hustle.

Either way, we’ve got a feeling brands will soon be lining up at Li Yan’s door.
