Last year, Faye Wong’s ex husband Li Yapeng, 51, was ordered to repay an investment company a whopping S$37mil following a failed business deal.

After the sentence, Yapeng told the press that he has already agreed on a repayment plan with his creditors. Though he did not specify the exact amount he had to return, he revealed that his total debt is actually more than the stipulated $37mil.

The actor has always remained upfront about his debts

In a recent live stream, an exasperated Yapeng also shared that the court had put a restriction on his spending.

Yapeng disclosed that he was in Guangxi, which is about a three-hour flight to Beijing, where he lives.

His assistant had bought a first-class ticket for him but when he got to the airport, he realised he was not allowed to get on the flight home due to the restriction that was placed on him.

In the end, Yapeng was forced to take a train, and the journey back to Beijing took him 11 hours.

Yapeng, who was live streaming from the airport, is trying to stay optimistic about his current situation.

He said: “I have a valid reason for publicly talking on live stream about repaying my debts. As long as I am still alive, I will take full responsibility for my mistakes!”
