The 45-year-old star recently threw a birthday party for his nine-year-old daughter, Alaia, with Chinese model Qin Shupei.
It is said that he carefully plans a celebration for her every year, and this year’s party was held in Los Angeles with a beach theme.
Videos from the event showed Edison leading everyone in singing the birthday song while playfully pinching his daughter’s cheeks.
Alaia, who's known to have a close bond with Edison, happily played along.
When it was time to blow out the candles, he held hands with Shupei and the couple flanked their daughter, each giving her a kiss on the cheek.
While it was surely a heartwarming day for the Chen family, netizens, as usual, were distracted by something else — Edison's bearded look at the party.
Some felt the stache made him appear “more mature and charming”, though others snarked that “time spares no one.”
