Xixi Lim Calls Out Ikea For Late Delivery & Assemblers Who Didn't Know How To Install The Wardrobe Even Though She'd Paid For The Service
If you're a guest to Xixi Lim's home, don't be surprised if you find her clothes strewn around the house.
Earlier this week, local actress Xixi Lim took to TikTok to air her grievances about an Ikea delivery and installation she had arranged for a wardrobe she'd bought.
Xixi stated that she's "so mad" about the Ikea delivery she had scheduled from 12pm to 3pm. But at 3pm, she received a call from Ikea, informing her that they would be one hour late. However, Xixi had to leave her house by 5pm for a work appointment at 5.30pm.
"If the delivery is late or whatever, if you inform me earlier, I think it's fine because we can't just wait at home the entire day for you right?" ranted Xixi.
"I'm not blaming the [Ikea rep who informed me], she's very helpless as well but the thing is their service recovery is zero... She's not rude, she was just like: 'Oh I'm so sorry. Oh, I don't know, I'm not sure.' She's not sure about everything," said the actress.
Taking into consideration that the team needs time for installation too, Xixi then asked the woman for a solution, only for her to reply nonchalantly: "Oh, then you change date lor."
She even asked the Ikea rep for assurance that the team would be punctual the next time, to which the latter replied: "Oh, I can't promise that".
The actress eventually chose to continue with the delivery service that day, and updated that the items did not arrive as of 5pm, which was when she left for work.
But that was not even the worst part.
In a second video, Xixi shared that the items finally arrived at 6pm.
And that's when the most bizarre thing happened.
The actress received a call from her assistant, who was at her apartment helping her take care of the delivery matters while she was at work.
"[He told me:] 'They don't know how to build the PAX wardrobe'. They don't know leh! I paid to get them to install and they came not knowing how to install the PAX wardrobe. Why? How can it be like this? This is just very bad," she raged.
In her caption, the actress then stressed that she's "never opting for Ikea delivery again".
Netizens have since taken to the comments to share similar woes — including one who was told "on the day itself that they don't have some stuff that [they] ordered" — while others consoled Xixi.
A netizen also advised the actress to always choose the first slot in the morning since it is the "safest as you're the first destination and it's less likely to be delayed from previous clients".
Meanwhile, one netizen commented that Ikea's delivery is actually operated by GoGoX and that the installation service is done by GoGoX drivers.
8days.sg has since reached out to Ikea, who responded that they work closely with their third-party vendors to provide delivery services. They are aware of the customer’s experience and "are sorry to hear about the inconvenience this has caused".
"Our Customer Relations team has reached out to Xixi Lim directly to offer support and have come to a mutually acceptable resolution, which includes a reimbursement on delivery and assembly charges," they said.
"Moving forward, Ikea will continue to work closely with our third-party vendors to uphold strong service standards," added the representative.
