When Singaporean mum Claudia Seah shared a video on her socials celebrating her son Hayden's completion of his National Service basic training with the Singapore Police Force, she probably didn't expect to steal his thunder.

But that's exactly what happened.

Netizens couldn't get over how youthful Claudia looks, with many convinced the pair looked more like siblings than mother and son.

Some — this writer included — even thought she was his girlfriend.

And honestly, can you blame us? In a recent photo taken at Hayden's graduation, she could easily pass for someone in her 20s.

"I thought you are sister and brother," commented one netizen.

"Your son? What facial lotion do you use? Give me your list!" wrote one curious netizen.

Well, we have some answers.

Speaking to 8days.sg, Claudia, who runs a permanent make-up beauty business in Bangkok, reveals that she's 45 and Hayden is 18.

The mum-of-three says she's no stranger to people being shocked by her youthful appearance.

"I get these comments regularly, especially now that Hayden's getting older," she tells us, adding that she's thankful for the compliments.

"People normally get shocked when they know I'm his mother, and people can't believe I have a grown-up son like Hayden,” she says.

And what does Hayden think about having such a young-looking mum?

Seems like he's pretty proud of it, though he doesn't quite let on.

"His school teachers tell me that Hayden compliments me in school and says I'm pretty," shares Claudia.

But at home, it's a different story.

"He will get me exercising when I put on weight and sometimes tells me to control my snacking habits," she says.

The pair also work out together at their home gym in Bangkok.

Claudia puts her youthful glow down to getting enough sleep, staying hydrated and keeping stress at bay.

"I sleep an average of eight hours a day and this has been my main goal since I was a teenager," she shares.

She also drinks two litres of water daily and makes a conscious effort not to bring work stress home so she can sleep well and spend quality time with her family.

She takes supplements such as collagen and astaxanthin, an antioxidant, too.

Surprisingly, Claudia says she doesn't undergo aesthetic treatments, despite working in the beauty industry, as she's too busy juggling work and family.

Claudia has been living in Thailand for the past decade with her Thai husband, whom she met while holidaying there.

The couple have been married for more than 10 years. Claudia also has a nine-year-old daughter and a seven-year-old son.

Hayden was born in Singapore and lived here until he was nine, when the family relocated to Thailand.

Returning to Singapore for NS wasn't easy for Hayden, who initially struggled with the tough training and being away from his family.

But Claudia says NS has made him more respectful, considerate and appreciative of family time.

"I feel proud that he has become a much better version of himself through his own patience, tolerance and discipline," she says.

Mum and son, not siblings. We know, it's hard to believe.
We can see why people are confused.
