If you’re a fan of creepy, spine chilling stories, you should have a chat with RIA 897 DJ Far Anwar.

Far, who helms the station’s midnight to 2am belt, hosts the popular horror program Misteri Jam 12, where he tells, for the lack of a better term, ghost stories to his night-owl listeners.

8days.sg spoke to Far about an encounter he had with the supernatural.

“I’ve never really told anyone about this before, but this particular incident happened late last year. At that time, I had just joined RIA, so as a newbie, I had to be attached to a senior DJ,” recalls Far.

On that day, Far was attached to Fadli Kamsani on a weekend shift. The show was to start at 10am and he arrived 40 minutes early to Mediacorp, and was walking along the corridor of radio studios.

“There are glass panels so you can look through to see inside the main studio area. I glanced inside and I saw Fadli right at the end of the [room]. He was resting his head on the table, so I just thought to myself ‘Oh he’s early today’,” says Far.

Far didn’t think much about it, and decided to go to the toilet before heading into the studio.

“As I opened the door, I was ready to say ‘Good Morning! Selamat Pagi!’, I was [super cheerful], ready to greet Fadli, but when I looked over, he wasn’t there, and I kind of froze,” he continues.

Far wondered if he was seeing things and told himself that maybe Fadli had gone to the toilet, or left the room to grab a bite.

Far settled down and that’s when the actual Fadli entered the room.

“I asked him ‘Bro where did you go?’, and he told me he had just arrived," he says. “I could have sworn I saw someone resting his or her head on the table, just [slumped over on the table] there.”

To this day, Far never discovered who — or what — he had seen in the studio that Saturday morning.
