Taiwanese actor Zack Fanchiang has accused his wife of infidelity, creating shockwaves in the industry.

In a video on Instagram yesterday (Oct 29), the 33-year-old directly called out his wife Chiang Wei-Lin (better known as Guo Guo) and Taiwanese singer and Lollipop member, Prince Chiu, 36.

“You must think pretending to be just friends and being very open puts you in a very safe spot, and that no one will ever find out, right?" he said.

Zack shared that he and the 31-year-old former cheerleader of Taiwanese baseball team CTBC Brothers dated for six years before getting married. They have a three-year-old daughter, nicknamed Little Jam.

It all started between March and April this year when Guo Guo travelled to the U.S. with Prince and their friends. During the same time, Zack was with his family in Japan and returned a week later.

While apart, Zack would often text his wife only to get brief replies. Guo Guo also never took the initiative to ask about the family.

He initially thought she was simply enjoying her trip and relaxing, but after returning to Taiwan, her attitude changed completely.

“She said we were too clingy and that she wanted more personal time and space,” he said.

Soon after, she began frequently meeting with the same group of friends and stopped sharing her whereabouts with Zack. Eventually, there were days where she just did not go home at all.

Zack lamented that though he tried to keep it together for the family and made many compromises, she only grew colder toward him. That left him mentally and physically exhausted, and caused him to suffer from insomnia and anxiety.

She allegedly even asked him to sign an agreement waiving his right to post-marital property distribution, an act stopped only because his family intervened.

“Maybe heaven took pity on me and let me see the truth sooner,” he said, adding that he later obtained “concrete evidence of an affair” between Guo Guo and Prince.

“My hands were shaking, I broke out in a cold sweat, it felt like my whole world was collapsing,” recalled Zack, who did not reveal what the aforementioned "evidence" was.

Upon confrontation, Guo Guo purportedly denied everything. Zack said it was because she was unaware that he had already seen the evidence.

“At that moment, I truly saw the relationship for what it was."

The couple then entered a long negotiation period, and Zack claimed that, for the sake of his family’s reputation, he initially chose to stay silent and lower his demands, hoping for a peaceful resolution.

When Guo Guo allegedly showed no sincerity and continued keeping in contact with Prince, Zack then decided to stop giving in after four months of fruitless talks.

On top of that, Zack claimed that the ongoing stress has affected his health and work, causing his finances to take a hit. The marital property was also registered under his wife’s name, and he is unable to access his past earnings because his accounts were controlled.

“I know the days ahead will be hard because I might be slandered or have the public turned against me, but I just want to defend my morals and conscience,” he asserted.

He emphasised that he would pursue the matter through legal means: “Even if I face injustice, I’ll stick to my principles and kindness.”

He also had a final message for Prince.

“Doing something wrong isn’t the scary part, the scary part is not reflecting on it. You destroyed my family, yet you can still walk the red carpet and accept awards under the spotlight. Is that who you really are?" he snapped.

Earlier this month, Prince and his Lollipop group mates snagged the Best Reality Show Host trophy at the Golden Bell Awards for their variety show Bring It On.

Zack also averred that the video was made after deep consideration and because he had reached a breaking point.

“This isn’t an emotional outburst, it’s my way of giving an explanation to myself and to society.”

Guo Guo and Prince have both responded to the allegations within the same day.

On her Instagram Story, Guo Guo argued that she has been "trying to communicate logically and sincerely" about the end of her marriage.

"We struggled to reach an agreement for a very long time because the divorce settlement amount proposed by the other party is beyond what I can afford," she wrote.

She also claimed that the "breakdown of negotiations and the unexpected video contained many statements inconsistent with the facts.”

"As a mother, I will be responsible for what I should be responsible for, and will not mislead or hide anything from anyone," she wrote.

Prince, on the other hand, issued an apology.

"I'm not someone who destroys a family," he asserted. "This was not a long-hidden relationship, nor did it involve any improper intentions or schemes."

The singer said that he gradually become overly concerned while learning that Guo Guo was negotiating a divorce, and crossed "the boundaries of what’s appropriate between friends.”

“Even if my actions came from care and sympathy, they were not the right way to express it. A mistake is a mistake, there’s no excuse," he said.
