Prince Chiu Accused Of Being “Inconsiderate” & “Noisy” By Neighbours Of Apartment He Rents From Jay Chou's Wife Hannah Quinlivan

We've all met our fair share of neighbours from hell. But what would you do if that awful person from next door is a celebrity?

According to Taiwanese media, a neighbour of Taiwanese actor Prince Chiu has accused the 33-year-old star of being “inconsiderate”.

Prince is said to be living with his mum and brother in an apartment that he rents from Mrs Jay Chou Hannah Quinlivan.

The flat is situated in Taipei’s Neihu district, and Hannah reportedly bought it for S$2.2mil in 2018 for her mum.

Prince and Hannah have been friends for years. He started his showbiz career as a member of Taiwanese boy band Lollipop in 2006 around the same time as Hannah, who was one of the cast members of Blackie's Teenage Club (我愛黑澀會). He also regularly shows up for gatherings organised by Hannah and Jay.

It's said that when Hannah found out that Prince was looking for a place to stay, she offered to lease him her apartment and he's been staying there for the past year.

Interestingly though,
many of his neighbours were not aware that they had a celebrity living in their building as they hardly saw him because of his busy work schedule.

Though they could very well hear him.

Prince is close friends with the Chous

A resident in the same building told reporters that Prince is an “inconsiderate neighbour”, who constantly holds gatherings at his house and create lots of noise late into the night.

Said resident, who is known only as Mr A, moved into the eleventh floor unit of the building with his wife and children in March this year.

On their very first night there, they heard heavy footsteps and doors slamming from the unit above, which is reportedly where Prince lives.

Mr A and his wife said that they could not sleep that night due to the noise.

Once, the ruckus from the unit above continued until 3am and a frustrated and tired Mr A, together with the building's security guard, went up to confront Prince.

However, it was Prince’s mother who answered the door and she apologised profusely to Mr A. Not wanting to put the old lady in a difficult position, Mr A decided to let the matter rest.

After that incident, Mr A requested for a meeting with Prince and the building management, so he could air his grievances.

However, it was Prince’s mother who attended the meeting. She did not deny the accusations Mr A had made against her son, and expressed that she would tell him about the complaints.

According to Mr A, things did not improvement after the meeting and as a result, the building’s management had no choice but to send a letter to Hannah, in hopes that she would be able to mediate the situation.

Not very Prince-like behaviour

Another neighbour, known as Mr B, also said that Prince and his friends would speak extremely loudly in the building's communal areas.

They also often call for food delivery in the middle of the night and would make lots of noise when they collect their food downstairs.

According to Mr B,
many residents have been rudely awoken from their sleep because of how rowdy Prince and pals were.

Taiwanese media have also claimed that Prince has turned his home into a “warm-up centre” where he rehearses for his appearances on variety shows like All Star Sports Day and Watching All-Star, and that it has probably contributed to the noise.

Prince’s manager has addressed the issue, saying that ever since they’ve received feedback from their neighbours, Prince and his family have reduced the number of gatherings they have at home, and that they are now more aware of how not to disturb their neighbours.
