Yu Menglong Death: Mother’s Alleged Letter Suggests Foul Play, Not Accident

The shocking death of Chinese actor Yu Menglong, who fell from an apartment building on September 11, has raised many questions.

Police have ruled the incident an accident, citing intoxication, and his body was swiftly cremated afterward.

However, widespread speculation suggests there may be more to the story. Netizens have circulated several theories — along with alleged evidence — including a now-viral clip that appears to show a figure, believed to be Menglong, struggling at a window moments before his fall.

As online sleuths continue to speculate about the mystery, a letter allegedly written by Menglong’s mother has gone viral.

“I am heartbroken with grief as I reveal the truth behind my son’s tragic passing. I only wish to seek justice for my child, who died a wrongful death,” she wrote.

What followed was an emotional account in which she claimed that her son’s “murderer” had lied to the public by insisting his death was an “accident.”

“They’ve spread falsehoods, muddied the waters, and misused their influence to evade justice. But they’ve forgotten that a mother’s love for her son cannot be buried by lies,” she penned.

She further revealed that she possesses crucial footage and testimonies from those involved, which she says prove Menglong’s death was not accidental, but instead the result of someone’s deliberate intent to harm.

Despite her efforts to expose her son’s alleged murderer, she claimed the accused remains unpunished — even going so far as to suppress the facts and silence her pleas for justice.

“I know my ability is limited, but I am unwilling to give up. My son was cheerful and kind, and he should not have had to leave this world with such grievance. I will never allow his murderer to wrongfully label his death as an ‘accident’,” she wrote.

She urged those who “understand the circumstances behind Menglong’s death” to help amplify her voice so that “the truth can reach the masses.” She also appealed to the authorities to take her claims seriously and hold the perpetrator accountable.

Although the authenticity of the letter has yet to be verified, it has ignited widespread debate on Chinese social media. Many sympathised with the grief expressed in the alleged words of Menglong’s mother, while others warned truth-tellers to “watch out for their safety.”
