Chinese Actor Yu Menglong, 37, Dies After Falling From Beijing Apartment

Chinese actor Yu Menglong, 37, has died after falling from a residential building in Beijing.

According to reports, he had dinner with friends at a pal’s home on September 10.

Around 2am, he went to the bedroom, locked the door, and went to sleep.

By around 6am, when the gathering dispersed and he was nowhere to be seen, friends went downstairs and discovered his body.

The news spread quickly on Weibo, shocking fans.

Hours later, Menglong’s work studio confirmed the tragedy in a statement: "With immense grief, we inform everyone that our beloved Menglong passed away after falling from a building on September 11, 2025. Following police investigations, criminal suspicion has been ruled out. May the deceased rest in peace, and may the living stay strong."

Many of Menglong’s celeb peers have since taken to their socials to pay tribute to the star.

Actress Yang Mi wrote: “Fourth Brother, may you rest in peace in the other world,” referencing his role in 2017 fantasy drama Eternal Love.

Dilireba, who also starred in the series, said: “In my memory, you have always been the gentle and sincere Bai Zhen. Later, when we met again on a show, you were still the kind and gentle Yu Menglong. Rest in peace, you’ll be forever missed…”

Born in Xinjiang, Menglong got his start in showbiz in 2007 after competing in talent competition My Show! My Style!, where he finished in the Top 16 for the Xi’an province.

He later transitioned to acting and rose to fame with breakout period drama Go Princess Go (2015) and cemented his popularity with Eternal Love (2017).

However, in 2020 he was reportedly sidelined by his agency after allegedly refusing the "inappropriate requests" of a female investor.

As a result, he was blacklisted for nearly three years during what should have been the peak of his career.

Menglong later admitted in interviews that during this downturn, he often felt unhappy and self-doubt, questioning whether he belonged in the industry.

When he returned in 2023, opportunities were fewer and he mostly took on supporting roles.

Menglong’s last public appearance was on August 29, when he shared scenic photos and selfies on Weibo.

Although he looked noticeably slimmer, he appeared to be in good spirits.
