Taiwanese Star Took Nude Photos To Pay Off S$84K Credit Card Debt; Pics Leaked Despite NDA Being Signed

Take this as a warning to never take explicit photos no matter how desperate you are.
Recently, it was reported that Taiwanese star Amy Yeh was coerced into taking nude photos many years ago after she fell into a heavy credit card debt.
The now 42-year-old star shared on Taiwanese variety show Zhen Zhen You Ci that she was in a TW$2 million (S$84K) debt when the incident happened.
The former member of now-defunct Taiwanese girl group Fantasy 4 was working as a model at that time and her manager had arranged a photoshoot for her.
"It was supposed to be a fashion shoot at a hotel, but they moved it to the beach for swimwear. Eventually, the manager and photographer asked if I’d do a fully nude shoot," she said.
Her manager assured her that the photography team would sign a confidentiality agreement, and she even saw the photographer sign a waiver promising not to release the pics. In the end, she agreed to do the nude shoot which would pay her TW$30,000 (S$1,260) per photo.
That was when her nightmare began.
Despite having signed the non-disclosure agreement (NDA), Amy found her photos leaked online after she joined showbiz in 2005. She was also devastated to realise that the contract could do nothing to protect her.
It's also why she is opening up about the incident now, hoping that it could serve as a cautionary tale for other young women.
"Once a photo is uploaded to the Internet, it can always be found. Think twice before taking explicit photos," she warned.
Amy did come from a well-to-do background and her dad was the chairman of a well-known security company. However, she began chasing her dreams of stardom at 14 years old by taking part in multiple talent competitions.
The star became financially independent and rarely asked her family for financial support after joining showbiz. Now, Amy only makes about TW$50,000 (S$2,100) a month but she and her husband, whom she has a son with, are enjoying a happy and fulfilling family life.
Please listen to Amy and protect yourselves, ladies.
