Mat Yeung's Roast Meat Restaurant In M'sia Temporarily Closed By City Council, Just 10 Days After Opening

Just 10 days after opening, Mat Yeung's Hong Kong-style roast meat restaurant in Petaling Jaya has faced its first setback.

Recently, it was reported that the 45-year-old TVB actor's eatery, Six Hub Roast House, was temporarily shut down by the Petaling Jaya City Council less than two weeks after its official opening.

A closure notice was also pasted outside the premises on August 24, stating that the restaurant was required to cease operations from 1pm that day.

The notice also cited alleged violations related to the restaurant’s licence and the permitted use of the premises.

In an interview with Hong Kong media HK01, Mat confirmed that the closure had indeed taken place.

He said the restaurant was suddenly sealed while it was operating, and that the shop had not received any prior warning.

According to Mat, the reason for the closure was that the restaurant had placed some items in the back alley.

The authorities instructed them to clear the items within two days, meaning the restaurant had to remain closed for two days and could only reopen the day after tomorrow.

Mat was, however, told by local friends that it was quite unusual for a business to be shut down without prior warning.

He also alleged that authorities would typically first issue a verbal warning, and only take further action if the problem was not rectified.

The actor described the incident as rare, adding that the restaurant was sealed directly without even being given an inspection beforehand.
