M’sian Man Slaps Wife In Mall ‘Cos She Took Too Long To Buy Chicken Rice
His actions were caught on a live stream and he's since been arrested by the police.

A video of a Malaysian man slapping his wife at the entrance of a shopping mall in Sepang District, Selangor, went viral last week, drawing the ire of many netizens.
The upsetting moment was caught on camera by accident. A store in the mall was hosting a live stream selling cars, and the couple happened to be in the background of it.
The woman was seen rushing towards the mall’s automatic doors with a plastic bag in her hands. A man, later identified to be her husband, walked towards her while holding the hand of their child. He then slapped her across the face. In front of everyone.
The woman looked terrified of her husband during their exchange.
Other shoppers looked on in shock as the man instructed the woman to leave the mall before exiting behind her.
Netizens, too, were appalled by the man’s actions, with many concerned that the woman might be a victim of domestic abuse.
The viral clip drew the attention of the police, who later also received a report lodged by the woman’s sister.
The man was arrested on Saturday (Feb 1), six days after the video was posted.
According to Malaysian media Sinar Harian, the man admitted to his actions, claiming that he had lost his temper and hit his wife because she “took too long to buy chicken rice from the mall”.
Yes, you read that right. He slapped her because of chicken rice.
The man reportedly slept inside his car to evade the police but was found outside a clinic. The police chief of Sepang district addressed the case, stating that the man will be held in custody for three days following his arrest.
The man is now being investigated for voluntarily causing hurt and could be sentenced to a one-year jail term, a fine of up to 2K ringgit (S$612), or both if he is declared guilty.
