A dashcam video showing a passenger believed to be Hong Kong singer Lui Fong, getting into a heated argument with a ride-hailing driver has gone viral online.

What started as a dispute over an allegedly incorrect drop-off point quickly spiralled into a profanity-filled shouting match.

While neither Lui Fong, 62, nor his representatives have responded, many netizens believe the man in the video looks and sounds like the singer.

According to the clip, the passenger first told the driver he had stopped at the wrong location and asked him to drive a little further to No. 392.

The driver insisted he had already arrived at the destination pinned on the app and told the passenger to file a complaint with the platform if he was unhappy.

Although the driver inched the car forward, he soon lost patience.

"I've got another booking. I can't help you look for the place. I've got to make a living!" he snapped.

The passenger repeatedly tried to explain that they still haven't reached the destination, but is constantly interrupted.

Eventually, he fired back: "Can you keep your voice down?”

The driver, however, continued insisting he simply followed the GPS and that ride-hailing trips are "point-to-point".

The passenger then pulled out his phone and pointed to the map, saying: "We're not there yet!"

The driver shot back that if the passenger wanted someone to search for an address, he should "take a taxi instead".

The passenger eventually decided to get out of the car, but things took another awkward turn when he couldn't figure out how to open the door despite the driver's instructions.

After several unsuccessful attempts —  and another round of swearing —  he finally got the door open and warned: "I've got your licence plate number. You're finished!"

That's when the driver, who apparently hadn't recognised his passenger in the dimly lit car, suddenly appeared to realise who he was arguing with.

He immediately launched into an even more colourful tirade.

"F* your mother, you stinking shorty! I remember you now! Lui Fong!" he shouted.

The passenger pointed back at him and replied: "Is this how you do business? You're dead!"

As the driver pulled away, he continued yelling abuse out of the window, calling the passenger a "stinking celebrity" — among many other expletives we can't post here — before adding: "If you can't afford to take a ride-hailing car, then don't take one!"

The viral clip has divided netizens.

Some felt the dispute boiled down to an inaccurate GPS pin, with both men convinced they were right.

Others thought the driver was unnecessarily rude from the start.

One commenter wrote: "Lui Fong was just expressing his dissatisfaction at first. The driver immediately came at him aggressively."

Another added: "GPS can be wrong, especially on some ride-hailing apps. If the passenger gives you the address, just drive a little further. If you're going to have that attitude, don't be a driver."

They traded far more than directions.
