Interestingly-Shaped KL Twin Towers Souvenir Plushies Confuses Internet
We've seen our fair share of oddly-designed souvenirs, but this one may very well take the cake.
A Japanese content creator based in Malaysia, Kaz (kaz_fula), was recently at Suria KLCC, the shopping mall at Petronas Twin Towers, when he chanced upon these souvenir plush toys.
"Malaysia, what is this?" Kaz asked bewilderedly.
The pair of toys, presumably modelled after the Twin Towers, are cartoon characters versions of presumably the iconic buildings.
"Should I get for my fam? What is this [shaped after]? Maybe not," joked Kaz in his captions.
Unsurprisingly people started discussing the plushies' phallic-looking forms.
"I think some iconic buildings should not be made into toys. It's too suggestive," quipped one netizen.
Other netizens were extremely tickled by Kaz's discovery, with some saying they would buy the toy "just for laughs".
There were also those who were confused by the toy's design, with some asking "who in the right mind" made the executive call to have them looking the way they do.
The most hilarious comment? "Everything reminds me of him."
Kaz later thanked netizens for their input: "Now I see this is controversial even to local people. Is this official merchandise by Petronas KLCC as it’s got tags? I wonder what the pink colour part is for."
Wonder if KLCC saw a rise in sales after Kaz's viral video.
