Jordan Chan, 59, Looking & Moving Like He's Older Than His 65-Year-Old Father-in-Law? Netizens Voice Their Concerns

It's no secret that Jordan Chan, 59, and his wife, Cherrie Ying, 43, have a significant age gap.

And when you're married to someone 16 years younger than you, an awkward comparison like this is bound to happen.

Recently, the actress' father took to Weibo to share a series of photos of Jasper, the 13-year-old elder son of Jordan and Cherrie. The couple also have a younger son, six-year-old Hoho.

“Weibo really has one advantage. It can remind you how ruthless time is, it can carry so much longing, it can remind you how happy love can be, and it can help you quietly wipe away your tears,” he wrote.

“It’s just… we’re really too far apart now,” the doting grandfather wrote, adding in the comments that his grandson had "gone abroad to study".

He also shared a throwback photo of Jasper, who is currently studying in UK, on his first day of school in 2015.

Netizens, however, totally missed the point of the heartwarming family photos and zeroed in on how energetic and stylish Cherrie's dad looked.

Though Cherrie's dad is reportedly only six years older than Jordan at 65, netizens said he looked considerably younger than his son-in-law.

“How does the grandfather look younger than Jordan Chan?” one netizen asked, while another commented that “the grandfather hasn't aged at all.”

Others, however, expressed concern over Jordan's seemingly haggard appearance. “What has happened to Jordan in recent years?” asked one.

In fact, in a recent video shared by Cherrie, Jordan, who had just completed a concert tour, appeared weak and unsteady on his feet as he made his way backstage.

Rather than walking in a straight line, he repeatedly veered to the right, prompting Cherrie to hold onto and support him.

Many netizens also pointed out how exhausted he appeared.

“He's over 60, basically retirement age, yet he's still working this hard,” one netizen remarked.

Some netizens had previously also bluntly claimed that Jordan had undergone a “cliff-like” aging process and said he looked like a 77-year-old man.

Jordan, however, has previously said that he is not ready to retire, reportedly because he still needs to cover his sons' school fees. Hoho currently attends Yew Chung International School, a private international school in Hong Kong, while Jasper is studying in the UK.
