Jordan Chan's new BIG MAN concert tour in Beijing got off to a rocky start after fans complained about blocked views, leading the Hong Kong star to pull an all-nighter to revamp the stage.

The opening show on June 20 drew criticism over a giant pink figure positioned in the middle of the stage, which reportedly obstructed the view for some concertgoers.

Several fans who paid 1,288 yuan (S$246) for the priciest tickets complained that they spent much of the show staring at the back of Jordan's head. Some audience members were even heard demanding refunds.

Rather than shrugging off the criticism, Jordan and his team got to work after the show.

Obstructive structures were removed, screens were enlarged, fans in affected sections were offered seat changes, and Jordan's stage movements were redesigned so more concertgoers could get a clear view.

Videos circulating online also showed the 58-year-old personally overseeing the revisions.

The pressure and disappointment appeared to take an emotional toll on the singer.

While addressing the controversy during the second night's concert, Jordan became visibly emotional and broke down in tears.

"I've read all your comments and suggestions. If you're not satisfied, I'll continue to improve. We will definitely do better with every show," he told the audience.

Fighting back tears, he added: "If I'm unhappy, I'll bear it myself. You came to the concert, so as long as you're happy, that's enough."

His heartfelt apology moved fans, many of whom praised him for taking responsibility and acting on the feedback so quickly.

Even Jordan’s wife, actress Cherrie Ying, couldn't resist poking fun at the situation.

"Big Man read too many reviews and ended up crying so badly today. It's good he listened to advice — otherwise I wouldn't have been able to see him either,” she joked.

Many netizens also praised Jordan for responding with action rather than excuses.

"The artiste most willing to accept feedback," wrote one fan.

Another commented: "To make these changes in less than 22 hours overnight is impressive. The results were much better today."

A third summed it up best: "People with real ability aren't afraid to admit mistakes — and they're willing to fix them straight away."

Jordan teared up while apologising to fans during the second night of the concert.
