Event Organisers Criticised After Law Lan, 91, Left Standing At Fanmeet: "Isn't It Common Sense To Provide A Chair For An Elderly Person?"
Some veteran stars remain so passionate about their craft that they continue working well into their later years.
But sometimes, fans also can't help but feel bad after seeing how frail they are.
Recently, 91-year-old veteran Hong Kong actress Law Lan was spotted at a fan meet-and-greet at Ocean Park in Hong Kong.
She was dressed in a distinctive purple outfit, complete with a fluffy shawl draped over her shoulders.
Videos also showed crowds of visitors and tourists gathering around the veteran star to interact with her and shake her hand.
Although she appeared cheerful and in high spirits as she chatted with fans, Law Lan, who was seen standing in the video, moved noticeably slowly and appeared visibly frail.
Her knees were slightly bent as she stood, making it appear as though she was struggling to maintain her balance.
A staff member was also seen standing nearby with a walking stick, ready to assist her.
"Even though standing must be exhausting at her age, she's still so professional and friendly," one netizen praised.
Others, however, were quick to accuse the organiser for not providing the veteran actress with a more comfortable environment.
"Who organised this? Isn't it common sense to provide an elderly person with a chair?" one netizen scoffed.
Another pointed out that a fall could have serious consequences at her age, adding that her legs appeared to be struggling to support her weight.
One viewer, however, claimed that the organiser had actually provided Law Lan with a chair, but the actress chose to stand up to greet her fans.
