Court Clerical Error Lists Nike’s Lawsuit Against Edison Chen As $161mil… Turns Out It’s S$161K
That is a very big difference.

Did someone get too ambitious when filing paperwork against Hong Kong star Edison Chen?
On Monday (Aug 11), Nike reportedly sued the 44-year-old and his company Juice Los Angeles LLC for breach of contract for goods and services provided, demanding a jaw-dropping US$126mil (S$161mil).
Edison was named as he is the personal guarantor on the Juice account with Nike.
But the drama deflated quickly as it turns out it was a clerical error behind the sky-high figure.
Leaked court documents showed the Swoosh’s actual claim was just over US$126K (S$161K), not US$126mil as originally reported.
We can only imagine the law clerks sweating bullets after finding out the blunder.
It is unclear what sparked Nike’s lawsuit which marks the first time they are suing a former collaborator.
Since 2006, Nike, Edison and his streetwear brand, Clot, have worked on and released about 30 different sneakers together.
The partnership ended abruptly in 2023 when Clot announced a new collaboration with Nike’s arch-rival, Adidas, in October that same year.
Interestingly, Clot nor Adidas were listed in the lawsuit.
Though Edison has remained largely silent over the blunder and specifics of the lawsuit, he posted a photo of himself wearing a pair of white Adidas sneakers with the caption, “WORD!?!?”
Of course, netizens couldn’t help but poke fun at the incident with one joking, “Edison almost had to lose his underwear after he saw the initial amount!”
