Chinese Singer Marries Longtime Fan Who Had Idolised Him Since Primary School

Think marrying your celebrity crush is pure delulu?

Chinese TV host Feng Xi might make you reconsider.

She has just married Chinese singer Xu Song, aka Vae, whom she reportedly had been a huge fan of since primary school.

Talk about living the ultimate fangirl dream.

Xu Song, 40, recently announced that he and Feng Xi, who is 14 years his junior, have tied the knot after dating for four years.

Suddenly, all those teenage fantasies about marrying your favourite idol don't seem quite so delulu anymore.

For those unfamiliar with Xu Song, he rose to fame in the late 2000s and became one of China's most popular internet-era singers, known for writing and composing his own music.

Xu Song and Feng Xi announced their marriage together on Weibo, writing: "Our life story has entered a new chapter. Thank you for all your concern and well wishes."

They also shared two romantic wedding photos taken on a grassland.

In one, Feng Xi wears a striking red wedding gown while Xu Song is dressed in a black suit. In the other, she's in a classic white wedding dress, with the newlyweds holding hands and beaming at the camera.

The couple had kept their relationship relatively low-key when they first got together.

About a month after Feng Xi finished filming a programme, the pair were photographed holding hands while shopping before returning home together.

Neither confirmed nor denied their relationship at the time.

They later made a rare public appearance together at a New Year's Eve gala at the end of 2023.

And apparently, the audience already knew where they wanted this relationship to go.

When fans playfully urged the couple to get married, Xu Song joked: "I can consider it!"

Fast-forward to 2026, and it turns out he wasn't joking after all.

Somewhere out there, we're sure there's a longtime fan staring at an old poster of their celebrity crush and thinking: So you're saying there's a chance?
