Wife Of Benny Chan Faces Backlash After Posting Video With Jackson Wang Highlighting Height Difference

Hong Kong star Jackson Wang, 31, recently wrapped up three sold-out nights of his Magic Man 2 concert in Macau, and among the many celebrity guests spotted were Kevin Cheng and wife Grace Chan, as well Lisa Jiang, 39, the wife of Benny Chan. 

Lisa, a former model, got the chance to meet the GOT7 singer backstage and later shared a clip of their encounter online. What she probably didn’t expect, though, was the wave of criticism that came her way soon after.

In her now-deleted post, Lisa gushed about Jackson, writing: “Jackson is really too sweet, cute, and handsome. How can someone this adorable, with such high emotional intelligence, good looks, and such a quirky personality exist?”

While her words sounded harmless enough, it wasn’t what she said but what she showed that sparked backlash.

In the video, Lisa was seen standing close to Jackson, her arm casually around his waist as they posed for photos. Some netizens took issue with what they felt was overly “clingy” body language, but others were more fixated on something else: the height difference.

Lisa, who stands at 178cm, towered over Jackson, whose height is listed as 174cm. To even things out, Jackson cheekily stepped onto a small black foldable chair while taking photos. Afterward, he joked about it, pointing to his knees and quipping: “Crop off the photo here.”

He then hopped off the chair, dusted it off, and placed it neatly back in the corner, a move that drew laughter from those around him.

Still, some netizens weren’t amused. They accused Lisa of “intentionally embarrassing” Jackson by posting the video, calling it “disrespectful.”

“Is she complimenting him or mocking him?” one comment read. “If she truly liked him, she shouldn’t have posted something that clearly made him self-conscious.”

Another harsh remark said: “What else does she have to flaunt besides her height?”

To be fair, Jackson’s height is no secret. A quick Google search will tell you and his playful comment seemed more self-deprecating than defensive.

So, was Lisa really being rude or were fans simply overreacting?
