Ada Choi & Husband Celebrate Wedding Anniversary: "18 Years Of Us Putting Up With Each Other"
Marriage is something that takes more than just love to sustain, and we think Hong Kong actress Ada Choi and her husband Max Zhang know this better than most.
Recently, the 52-year-old took to her socials to commemorate their wedding anniversary.
Sharing a series of selfies with her hubby, the actress quipped: “Today marks 18 years of us putting up with each other.”
Max, 51, later reposted Ada’s post, joking: “Love is long-term endurance.”
The couple’s tongue-in-cheek banter immediately had fans swooning.
“Enduring your way into a fairytale-like love, I’ll gladly take this dose of sweetness,” gushed one fan.
Some also wished them eternal happiness, while others remarked that the two are starting to look more and more alike.
But the truth is, Max and Ada’s marriage wasn’t always a bed of roses.
The couple, who now have three children — Zoe, 14, Chloe, 11, and Le Er, five — tied the knot in 2008.
At the time, their relationship was reportedly frowned upon by the public due to perceptions of a “female-dominant” dynamic.
They even resorted to seeking help from a marriage counsellor at that time.
The actress also previously divulged that, as Max grew up in Chongqing while she was raised in Hong Kong, their different upbringings, languages, and perspectives often led to disagreements.
On top of that, her parents’ divorce also left Ada feeling inherently insecure about marriage.
Thankfully, with the guidance of their marriage counsellor, their relationship improved. The couple gradually opened up to each other, and that’s how they’ve continued to grow deeper in love over the past 18 years.
