Crowd Lu Ate Chicken Rice 9 Times While In S'pore For One-Day Concert
By now, we already know that overseas celebrities have their favourite dishes to eat every time they visit Singapore, perhaps indulging in it once or twice.
But nine times?
That's what Taiwanese singer-songwriter Crowd Lu did when he was in town over the weekend for his HeartBreakFast World Tour (Jan 10).
Yes, the 40-year-old loves chicken rice so much he had it nine times while he was here.
In an interview with Chinese media Zaobao.sg, Crowd admitted that he’s a big fan of Singapore’s Hainanese chicken rice and pandan cake.
While it wasn’t revealed how many days he was here for, Crowd had already eaten chicken rice nine times as of the interview.
He even joked about it on stage, saying that eating so much chicken rice caused him to “cough up phlegm” while clearing his throat.
The most amazing part? He doesn’t seem sick of it at all.
Comparing eating chicken rice to performing, Crowd mused that it’s like singing the same song — each time feels different.
“Even though you eat chicken rice many times, each time the order and combination of cucumber, chili, or dark soy sauce can bring a different sense of freshness and joy,” he quipped.
