Racy ‘Thai Hot Guys’ Eatery Opens In Idyllic Phoenix Park; Space Formerly Occupied By Spruce Cafe
The boys are back in town to shake things up in the elegant environs of leafy Phoenix Park, Tanglin. While there’ll be six Thai hunks based in Singapore, four of the hottest ones will only visit twice monthly.
Serene Phoenix Park, a government-owned enclave dotted with charming colonial-era office blocks (some are heritage buildings) has an, ahem, interesting new tenant. Say hello to the Thai Hot Guys. The ripped, scantily-clad dudes are from Bangkok seafood restaurant Staneemeehoi and their claim to fame is their campy, eyebrow-raising performances. They caused quite a buzz in Singapore last year, bringing their provocative dance moves to Mr Mookata’s Bugis outlet. If you missed their shriek-filled antics - the four main hunks will be back from 3 to 5 May 2024. And then some. This time, they bring with them six new hotties to celebrate the opening of their first-ever Singapore restaurant, Mr Mookata Plus.

Mr Mookata Plus is a 180-seater restaurant with an alfresco dining space decked with fairy lights. It’s a collaboration between Staneemeehoi (owned by two of the sexiest hunks, Dee and Wow) and Mr Mookata, a Singapore eatery. It takes over the space formerly occupied by brunch-friendly cafe, Spruce. This is the Thai Hunks’ first restaurant outside of Bangkok, and Dee tells 8days.sg that he’s “so, so excited” for it to open.
How did the partnership come about? Dee shares that “Mr Mookata’s owner got the place, so he invited us to come to Singapore and open the restaurant, and he wanted us to make it like our restaurant in Thailand”. Though the two are “partners”, Dee says the Thai hot guys’ shares in this eatery are “just a little bit”.
Chose Phoenix Park for its “cosy environment”
Mr Mookata’s manager tells 8days.sg that they chose to set up their second outlet in Tanglin as “it’s a nice place with a cosy environment, trees and plants, like an escape from the city”. He adds: “We decided on this area to give our customers the feeling that they flew from Singapore to Thailand”.
“Difficult to find staff to go to S’pore ’cos they’re scared”
For their opening, the four most popular hunks - Dee, Wow, Top and Per - will perform at the eatery from 3 to 5 May, while the remaining six guys, also from Staneemeehoi, will be stationed permanently in Singapore. Dee notes that they plan to bring over more performers from Staneemeehoi in future. However, he shares: “It’s difficult to find staff to go to Singapore because they’re scared as it’s their first time [living in Singapore]”.
The four hunks to return to SG twice a month
If you’re here just to catch a glimpse of the famous four hunks, Mr Mookata Plus’ manager tells 8days.sg that their “plan is to perform in Singapore around twice each month”. Dee says they “might go there on weekends every month”.
What will they wear this time?
What will the Thai Hunks be wearing this time round? Last year, they donned XMM-esque fits, complete with ‘I love Mr Mookata’ cropped tops and plaid skirts. This time, Mr Mookata Plus’ manager says they plan to wear similar costumes, while the six new members will be wearing “more covered-up versions” of the iconic Staneemeehoi lingerie (see below).
Mr Mookata Plus’ buffet will be priced the same as Mr Mookata’s, at $29.90 per pax. A la carte ingredients start at $1.70 per plate, and patrons also have the option of swapping mookata for Lala Hotpot (not available at Mr Mookata) for $22.90.
