Katsuya. Tonkichi. Tonshou. If you thought Singapore’s tonkatsu scene was already crowded, here comes another contender.

Seoul tonkatsu and udon restaurant chain OJEJE opened its first overseas outlet at Raffles City on Sept 25, bringing its signature crisp cutlets, freshly made udon and elegant dining spaces to Singapore for the first time.

Its first restaurant near Seoul Station opened in June 2020, and became so popular that an average of 60 to 80 groups were waiting each day during its first two years. On one particularly busy day, about 110 groups joined the queue at opening, forcing the outlet to stop taking names.
