Medium Claims Zoe Tay Was A 'Beggar' In Past Life

Zoe Tay is no stranger to dramatic storylines, but this “past life” reading might be one of the wildest yet.

In a video posted by TikTok account 火凤凰通灵神婆(照片查因果) (@stillpennell), a self-proclaimed medium offers a reading of the Mediacorp star based solely on her photo.

The account describes the medium as a “Global Psychic Competition award winner” and a “13th-generation shaman”, claiming “read a person’s past, present and future from a single photo”.  

It has also posted similar readings of other Singapore celebs, including singer Kit Chan and pop duo BY2.

In the clip, the medium is given a photo of Zoe at the 2023 Star Awards and asked to look into past life.

Her verdict? According to the reading, Ah Jie, who’s widely regarded as one of Singapore’s biggest stars, was once a beggar who scavenged for food and endured a harsh life.

That said, the medium adds that Zoe has always had a fiercely strong personality, describing her as someone who refuses to be bullied, whether in her past life or now.

The story then takes another turn.

The medium goes on to claim that in her past life, Zoe eventually became a child bride in a well-to-do family, enjoying material comfort but feeling emotionally lonely.

And apparently, some of these traits have “carried over” into this life.

The medium also describes present-day Zoe, 58, as a “queen-like” figure who is dominant, strong-willed, and — wait for it — has a preference for younger men and “doesn’t want to get married”.

Um…

Zoe is, of course, married to former RSAF pilot Philip Chionh, and the couple have three sons, Brayden, 21, Ashton, 18, and Nathan, 15.

Netizens were quick to call the reading “inaccurate”, pointing out that Ah Jie is “happily married with children.”

Well, it’s probably best not to take this one too seriously.
